Chief College, Career and Military Readiness Officer
Nancy Patterson is a native of Florida, and a U.S. Army veteran, who settled in the Central Texas-Fort Cavazos community in 1993. She graduated from Tarleton State University in
2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and in 2009 with a Master of
Education in Curriculum and Instruction.
In 2005, Nancy began her career in education as an English teacher in the Killeen Independent School District at Liberty Hill Middle School. She has served as an Instructional Specialist, Assistant Principal, Director of High School Curriculum,
Elementary School Principal, and Executive Director for Career & Technical
In her current role as Chief College, Career and Military Readiness (CCMR)
Officer, she oversees the school district’s Advanced Academics, Dual Credit and Early College programs, Career and Technical Education program, Gifted and Talented program, JROTC, Military Readiness
opportunities, Secondary Counseling program, and STEM program. Nancy is especially enthusiastic about creating educational opportunities for at-risk learners and raising community awareness of the programs offered in Killeen ISD.
Other community service organizations include the Texas Education Agency’s Advisory on Educational Opportunities for Military-connected Children, Clements Boys and Girls Club Board of Directors, Families in
Crisis, Inc. Board of Directors, the Subhani Foundation Board of Directors, and the Central Texas Regional Pathways Council.
