Director of Teacher Leadership DevelopmentTeach For AmericaA child of military parents, Lisa spent much of her childhood traveling around America, Mexico, and Japan! The constant shift between schools offered Lisa the unique opportunity to experience the disparities in education within the USA and abroad; it was this combination of experiences that catapulted Lisa into the field of education.
After graduating from the University of Maryland - College Park, Lisa entered the field of education as a Teach For America Miami-Dade Corps Member where she had the honor of teaching a medley of science courses, developed a dual enrollment nursing program, and served as the head coach for Girls Cross Country and Track & Field. Most recently, Lisa served as the Dean of Academic Programs for St. Mary’s School - Global Campuses which afforded her the opportunity to learn and live in the People’s Republic of China for 3 years. Lisa holds an M.S. in Educational Psychology and Child and Adolescent Development and an M.S.Ed in Secondary Science. Lisa currently serves the community as a Managing Director, Leadership Development at Teach For America - San Antonio with the belief that education can be a positive, disrupting force in our society. Fun Fact: I play the steel plan (steel drum) and travel for the experience of food and people! |
