Program Manager, Outpatient PharmacyU.S. Department of Veterans AffairsChristina Pereira, PharmD, is the Outpatient Pharmacy Program Manager, and Clinical Contact Center Pharmacy Supervisor at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center, Houston, Texas. She recently received her certification as a Pharmacy Regulatory Specialist. Originally from Massachusetts, she received a dual degree in BS of Health Psychology/ Doctorate of Pharmacy from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS).
In 2010, she became the Outpatient Pharmacy Supervisor for the Jamaica Plain Campus for the VA Boston Healthcare System. In 2013, she moved to Houston, Texas to become the Outpatient Pharmacy Program Manager at MEDVAMC. She is an Adjunct Professor for MCPHS and is a Clinical Instructor for Baylor College of Medicine. She enjoys teaching students the fundamentals of leadership development and how to be the best Supervisor for their staff. She is a VISN 1 Mentor and has been published in Annals of Pharmacotherapy, Drug Topics and US Pharmacist. She serves as a Peer Reviewer for ACCP, Journal of Health System Pharmacy Residents, and American Journal of Health System Pharmacists. She is a member of ACHE, ASHP, TSHP and Gulf Coast Society of Health-System Pharmacists. She is married and a mother of 2 children and enjoys spending time with her family. |
